We usually experience space as something fixed and time as something that passes within it. Slit scanning disrupts this order. The space in the finished image only emerges over time – bit by bit, moment by moment.
Perhaps time is therefore not merely something that occurs in space. Perhaps it is itself part of its architecture. This idea becomes visible in my images: space is no longer simply given, but is constantly recreated during the course of the photograph.
These and other works from “Space over Time” are available as limited edition fine art prints in selected formats in the online shop. Large formats are produced exclusively for exhibitions, galleries, and upon individual request.
