Paper Works distills photography to its essence: abstract, reduced, and expressive. Each composition becomes a quiet study of form, structure, and light—an invitation to contemplation.
The motifs are created solely through paper, light and perspective.
The starting point is always white paper. What color is added is created exclusively through targeted lighting: through colored transmitted light, colored background lighting or the use of colored backgrounds – sometimes based on greatly enlarged sections of earlier works.
Some compositions are enhanced by the use of clear polyethylene film, a translucent layer that refracts light, overlays structures and creates visual depth.
Paper Works explores the beauty of minimalism. Within the stillness of abstraction, an unexpected depth emerges—a dialogue between material and perception.
