The Coral Gables
A place doesn’t have to appear in my pictures exactly as it looks in reality. I’m less interested in its photographic description than in what remains of it: colors, rhythms, shapes, and a certain atmosphere.
Slit scanning can detach a real place from its familiar appearance without inventing it. The visible is rearranged – and from a concrete starting point, something emerges that can simultaneously be memory, perception, and an independent pictorial space.
These and other works from “Space over Time” are available as limited edition fine art prints in selected formats in the online shop. Large formats are produced exclusively for exhibitions, galleries, and upon individual request.
