Abstract photographic composition from the series

Steel

We associate steel with strength, weight, and durability. Slit-scan can reverse these properties entirely. From a hard material emerge flowing lines, rhythmic compressions, and forms that appear almost weightless. It is precisely this contradiction that fascinates me: the material itself does not change, only our perception of it. Photography does not diminish the steel’s reality – and yet it shows it in a form that we would hardly expect.
