At the origin is the singularity – a state without expansion, without time. A concentrated potential that cannot experience itself. Only at the moment when a part of this potential takes shape – as matter, as structure – does expression become possible. Pure energy becomes world. Space unfolds, and with it time emerges.
This selection of works from the series Space over Time understands space and time not as separate coordinates, but as continuous and interwoven phenomena.
What appears in the images is not a depiction of the world, but a visual reflection on becoming – on transitions, intensifications, and changes of direction.
The artistic approach is conceptually close to two paths of painting: Impressionism filters external impressions through an inner state, while Expressionism brings the inner directly to the surface. In both cases, it is about more than representation – it is about resonance.
Here too, each photograph is a snapshot of what hovers between perception and meaning. Between impulse and form. The subject is not what is depicted – but what shines through the image.
An overview of the further development phases of the Space over Time series can be found here – in three sections that trace the artistic work from its beginnings to the site-specific consolidation.
