It is what it is

Slit-scan photography isn’t exactly new, but it’s still relatively unknown to most people. Targeted photography, and thus the “slit camera technique,” has existed since the mid-20th century, but its artistic application is still very rare and therefore somewhat uncharted territory.

I’m often asked what kind of object was on the turntable when I took the slit scan. Sometimes I say it was this or that – but it really doesn’t matter what was on the turntable; only the result and the feeling when viewing it are important. Therefore:

It is what it is.
